Mevo Camera NBA x Mevo - #NBAFinals Interview with with Kyrie Irving

  1. Aaron Nanto: Thanks for the new footage.  Saw you guys at NAB!  Still undecided on this (no YT live support yet?).
  2. Bryan Gilchrist: Not bad. The audio needs work, or ability to add external audio sources. A lot of background noise. I see the host has a lav, but not sure if it's hooked up to the Mevo. Also you can see a lot of artifacting on the close-ups. You mentioned the bit rate in another comment, but you don't see the artifacting when it's zoomed out. I will check out other videos to see if they have higher bit rates.
  3. Mevo Camera: Thanks for the feedback. One thing to note is that this was simultaneously recorded during the stream to the microSD card, and as a result was recorded at the same bitrate as the stream (3-4mbps). That has an impact on the image quality as you might imagine. Recording alone (no streaming) will achieve a bitrate of 20mbps and will improve the quality even more. Regarding mics, this audio was captured by the built in stereo mics on the camera. The lav mics were used by the NBA for their own use. We are still on track for July and looking forward to getting the product to market!
  4. Mevo Camera: No YT Live support yet and nothing to confirm. Will let everyone know if that changes.
  5. DroneUser1: Great Interview and action shots with the Mevo. Was this using the built in Mic? The audio was sorda quiet. Otherwise very great clarity on the zoomed in shots. Would love to try one out for product video reviews. Who would I need to speak to in order to see about getting a demo unit and maybe for review? Please email me at droneuser1@gmail.com
  6. Jaimie Carter: I'd like to see the auto cutting. That's where this is good, other than that switcher studio is better.
  7. Mevo Camera: Thanks for the feedback. You are correct that this is from the built-in stereo mics, no external audio feature used for this stream. We are continuously tweaking and tuning things, including the audio capture from the built-in mics. Reach out to us at press@getmevo.com to request a review unit. I'll warn you the list is quite long, but we can capture your info and get you in our system. Thanks!
  8. Mevo Camera: We are planning to release some footage with external audio in the near future. Stand by!
  9. The River Community Church: Audio was low
  10. Mevo Camera: Hi Jaimie - we will release auto-cut samples shortly.
  11. The Strum Shop: I want to know more about external audio. We would like to use this for live concerts & other music related events....
  12. Tucker Debevec: The audio is horrible. Can you guys do a set up with mics hooked up?
  13. Eric Huecker: Pretty cool that you can do all that from an app, but those cropped shots look pretty bad.
  14. Mevo Camera: This was an early shoot with Mevo. To answer some of your questions -- you can pair external audio sources with Mevo through several methods. Also, if lighting is not strong, sometimes the image can lose a bit of quality on the zooms.
  15. Mevo Camera: External audio can be plugged in through the headphone port on your iPhone and mixed in.
  16. aryaKode: I think the concept is ground breaking! To think you can have a single camera to produce at such high level is absolutely amazing! And for that we give a 98% for effort. However, resolutions is huge these day, and 4K is almost standard on most new cameras today, so this product would have to get to at least Ultra HD in final cut for me to consider buying it. Audio, not so much, because we can always use external sources. There is still a noticeable distortion (fisheye), that has to go guys. I am really looking forward to these improvements, and we will be keeping a close eye on your progress @mevo. Thanks guys!
  17. cleantones: Good to see some more footage. Thanks for sharing. Still some disparity in the pros and cons. Looks like the lens distortion is still very evident. A lot of artifacts showing up when punched in all the way too. This was the first time I've seen that. It doesn't look like a broadcast compression type of thing. More of a sensor noise or whatever you call that. I see Lav mics but I don't think we were hearing them. So I assume it was the on camera mic. Not bad. We must be close to final product by now. Assuming you plan to meet the pushed back timeline of July.
  18. Mevo Camera: Great feedback and thank you for commenting. Sorry it took us a bit to reply. We missed this one!
