Why Sonic 4 Doesn't Suck

Episode inspired while playing Sonic Mania, though Mania itself is never mentioned; I felt it would have been a distraction from the main idea. It's worth mentioning here, at least, that Mania ups the pace in comparison to the Genesis games, both thanks to the dropdash and to some slight control differences.

It's also worth noting that Sonic 3 adds midair abilities, but they're all either context-sensitive powerups (as Sonic) or slow-paced, weighty abilities (as Tails & Knuckles).
